Check out the Blue Banana

KuKu CaJu would like to remind you that they've got stuff for sale at the Blue Banana Market in Kensington Market, Toronto.
While you're there, let them know we need more and better space to display, will ya?
Also, don't forget to grab a big fat burrito at the restaurant across the street, aptly named "The Big Fat Burrito".   mmmm yum.  Don't forget to get some hot sauce on 'er.

KuKu CaJu invites you...

Hello folks,

Happy February to you all.  No need to feel blah in this Spring-like weather... groundhogs be damned.

Wanted to let you all know that KuKu CaJu is still squirreled away in their Damascus studio making stuff.  Feel free to drop by for a glass of wine and a peruse.  For those that don't live in the middle of nowhere (like us) you might want to check out our Etsy site where we try to post new stuff when we can.  kukucaju.etsy.com or
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5757227
Orders can be placed there online or feel free to contact us directly about anything there, or any special orders.  We have been doing some commission work for people and that has been really fun for us, too.

On February 22nd, we will be at the Made With Love show in Toronto.  There should be an invite attached here, so please let us know if it does not show up.  Come by and see us if you're in the neighbourhood.

Also, be sure to check out the new CBC series, Being Erica, where several KuKu CaJu pieces are featured on set.  Erica's apartment has about 4 of them... spot Lucky the Cowboy, the Caballero, Kitty Toilette or Lolly Vampire and win great prizes. (like a magnet or something when we see you.... :)

Take care from your friendly neighbourhood recyclers (yes, we are always accepting your used or unwanted wood, button, oddities donations),

Camilla and Judy

KuKu CaJu lands on the moon

Well... the truth is, we have not actually landed on the moon... however...
everytime I venture down a new cyber-path it does feel like lunar exploration.  And seeing as I am sitting in high-speed land at the library, rather than typing from home... it feels sooo sans gravity!

Who are we?

Kuku CaJu- Paintings on Wood

KuKu CaJu was born when Judy Anderson and Camilla Willings, 2 ex-city girls, each with a 20+ years of fine art and craft experience, left the city to find themselves living the country life next door to the other in rural Damascus, Ontario (1 ½ hours northwest of Toronto, Canada).

Their work is friendly, fun and quirky, taking inspiration from all things that amuse them; kid’s literature, sock monkeys, small furry mammals, cowpokes and in particular, the curious fascinations of their combined 4 children, ages 5 and under.

Camilla and Judy make each unique piece entirely by hand, using mixed materials and acrylic on salvaged plywood in their Damascus studio, while their kiddies are sleeping after a long, long day.
They are happy to consider any custom orders or special requests... within the confines of the law.
Thanks for looking!
xo Judy and Camilla
